
The Croatian Railway Safety Agency is an autonomous and independent public institution founded by the Act on Railway Safety Agency (Official Journal “Narodne novine”, No. 120/08) which entered into force on January 1st 2009.
The Agency is independent in carrying out tasks within its competence, and it is directly responsible to the Government of the Republic of Croatia to whom it submits a yearly report on its work.
On May 1st 2011, when the first employees of the Agency took over their office, the Agency has begun carrying out some of the tasks within its competence.
The Agency activities are curently entirely financed from the state budget funds, whereas all the profit gained from Agency activities is the profit of the state budget of the Republic of Croatia.
